Death

If you die, your partner and/or children may receive a benefit payment from APF Pension Fund.

• Your partner will receive partner's pension and perhaps also a temporary partner’s pension that replaces the surviving dependants’ benefit.
• Your children will be entitled to an orphan's pension.
• A former partner may be entitled to a special partner's pension.

My pension

Temporary partner’s pension that replaces the surviving dependants’ benefit
If you die while you are still in the employment of your employer, we may increase your partner’s pension with a temporary partner's pension that replaces the surviving dependants’ benefit. In 2024, this temporary partner’s pension could be a gross amount of up to € 12.281,50 per year.

We will pay this pension to your partner until he or she reaches the statutory retirement age. Alternatively, if this is earlier, we will pay this pension to your partner until he or she reaches the age of 68 years or the statutory retirement age applicable at the time of your death. We will deduct any government surviving dependants’ benefit from the pension we pay to your partner.

If you are no longer in the employment of your employer, but have a (partial) waiver of contribution because you have an occupational disability, your partner may receive a temporary partner’s pension that replaces the surviving dependants’ benefit too. After your death, we will determine whether, and how much, extra pension your partner will receive.

Special partner's pension
If your relationship ends, your former partner will be entitled to the partner's pension accrued. This is called the special partner’s pension. Your former partner may waive his or her entitlement to a partner’s pension. Document the agreements made between you and your former partner, sign the document in question and then send us a scan of it.

Who we contact
We will contact your surviving dependants in the event of your death. As we will only be able to do this if we know who your surviving dependants are, make sure you register your partner if you are cohabiting.
