Converting your pension

Although you are due to retire in the near future, there is still time to adjust your pension. For example, you could opt to convert all or part of your partner’s pension into a retirement pension. Or vice versa. You will only be able to make this choice once, i.e. when you retire, and it cannot be reversed.

If you want additional retirement pension
You could decide to convert all or part of the partner’s pension that you have accrued since 2016 into additional retirement pension. Your partner must agree to this and sign the relevant document in confirmation of his or her agreement. You will then receive a higher pension benefit later. If you die, your partner will receive a lower partner’s pension or no partner’s pension at all.
