Higher or lower pension

You are free to adjust the amount of your pension benefit. You will start with a higher pension benefit on your retirement date and then receive a lower pension benefit from the age of 73 at the very latest. Or vice versa.

What you need to do

  • Would you like to retire on your state pension retirement date or when you reach the age of 68 at the very latest?
You will receive more information from us 6 months before your retirement date. This will clearly explain how to apply for your pension. Indicate your choice(s) and return the form to us 3 months before your retirement date at the very latest.
  • Are you planning to retire before you reach the age of 68?
Contact us 3 months before the date on which you want to retire.

What else do you need to know?

  • The lowest pension benefit must be equal to at least 75% of the highest pension benefit.
  • If you are planning to retire before your statutory retirement date, you may choose to receive more pension until payment of your state pension starts. You will receive less pension after this date.
  • You will only be able to make this choice once, when you retire.

Would you like to make another choice?
If the choice that you would like to make is not among the options indicated on the application form, you will be able to indicate this. We will then recalculate your pension in line with the rules in the pension regulations. You will receive an offer from us, containing all of the new amounts applicable. If you are happy with the offer, we will make all of the arrangements necessary for you.
